Music documentaries #1: Judas Priest

1980 Judas Priest released a ground breaking record, British Steel. This record has had a significant influence in the way you define "the sound of Heavy Metal". Rob Halford a.k.a "the metal god" voice is quite unice and formed countless of vocalist in the genre. Tipton & Downing evolved the way you could use two guitarist´s, being 2 lead guitarists and using twinharmonies to create a thicker sound instead of the Lead and backguitar´s that were the standard formula.

From British Steel there are countless classics for Metalheads, but for the "mainstream public" 2 songs and singles from this record are known, Breaking the law and Living after midnight. For myself, the favorites from this record is United and Metal gods.
Judas Priest were the ones to introduce leather & studs to the metal audience, a thing that became synonymous with the "the rock/metal uniform".

I guess we have to thank Rob Halford for that? since leather and studs been a part of the gay culture for quite some time before us "metalheads" adopted it and transformed it. Rob Halford is as you probably guessed Gay. So enjoy first the documentary about the making of the British Steel album and secondly from VH1´s series behind the music, the Judas Priest episode.

the song this time will be a new aquaintance for meHelltrain. They throw lots of influences into the bucket and mixed it freely, find it refreshing.

Helltrain - my little stars
